We’ve worked with Timetabler for many years and so we’re able to build you a timetable quickly and efficiently.
The way the initial setup and construction is completed in Timetabler is vastly different from other applications such as Nova-T6 and therefore requires a different approach and skill set. Our experience with Timetabler means you don’t need to learn these skills. We can take over the entire process for you, working with your team to develop cost-effective and efficient school timetables.
Our consultancy service using Timetabler to construct your school timetable is based on a simple 6 step strategy.
Basic data input – The first step is the input of all the information and resources required to develop the school timetable. This will include classes, sets or streams, teaching staff, rooms and subjects
Batch creation – Now that we have the resources entered, we can start the allocation process to create 'pure classes', 'simple blocks' or 'container blocks'. We can also look at creating dedicated days or blocking out specific time
Check and validate – Before we go any further, this is the point to review where we stand. In doing so we can check the diagram and look at staff loading, deployment and the use of part-time teachers to identify any obvious issues with the allocation proposed.
Scheduling the timetable – Once we’re happy with input and batch allocations, we can move to production of an optimised, cost-effective model for the delivery of high-quality education across the school
Publishing – This is the stage at which we can print or publish the timetable in whichever format is required
Export – when the final school timetable is approved by you, we will export it to your chosen MIS application
Successful school timetables cannot be written without the involvement of those delivering the teaching and education. Therefore, throughout this process, we will liaise with you to ensure that the school timetable we’re creating in Timetabler works for you. Some of the key things we’ll be looking at with you will include:
CPD – Do you need dedicated CPD time for teams, subjects or so that Heads of Department can visit classes for live feedback. Do you need a particular subject to run all its lessons simultaneously for a specific year group?
X and Y streaming – Subject to your PAN and cohort size, are we splitting the year and running X and Y streams and if so, are there any points whereby the entire year group comes together?
Likely in year issues – Can we foresee and therefore mitigate any issues that are likely to crop up during the year? What happens when Yr 11 leaves? Do you review teacher allocation following mocks? By asking these questions and considering the impact on the timetable, we stand the best chance of developing a school timetable that can flex and adapt and not need wholesale rewrites during the year.
